Taxman relieves Diego Maradona of jewellery
Pint-sized dancing-superstar South American, and former footballer, Diego Maradona is being chased for back tax owed from his time at Italian football club Napoli.
Digo’s time at the Serie A club has been fraught with controversy ever since he arrived and continued long after.

Dogged by accusations of Mafia friends and financiers, Diego now has tax officers attempting to recover more than £26m, enough to make even today’s Premiership heavyweights question how much they would have had to earn to run up that sort of tax bill.
The Taking Stock blog has reported that the investigation into the missing millions has taken tax officials to look at the vertically-challenged maestro’s jewellery collection. Authorities have recovered a watch valued at just shy of 9 Grand and an earring valued at £5,500……but when sold at auction the earring was purchased by a female buyer for the pricely sum of over £22,000.
It could take a while to satisfy this particular tax claim. The Hand of God might need to find the wallet of a banker………!
